Privacy Policy

DrowsyFox LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Pawker mobile application and the website at pawker.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. If you sign in via Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from the identity provider. We also store a hashed password if you use email/password authentication.

1.2 Learning Progress

We collect data about your learning activity, including experience points (XP), streak counts, lesson and level scores, time spent on exercises, and completion status.

1.3 Subscription & Payment Data

If you subscribe to Pawker Pro, we store your subscription tier, plan type, and expiration date. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and our subscription partner RevenueCat. We do not collect or store credit card numbers or billing addresses.

1.4 Device & Technical Data

We collect device type, operating system version, app version, locale, and timezone. When you create a session, your IP address and user agent are recorded for security purposes.

1.5 Crash Reports

With your consent, we collect crash reports and error data through Sentry, including stack traces, screenshots at the time of crash, navigation breadcrumbs, and your user ID.

1.6 Analytics

With your consent, we collect usage analytics through PostHog, including events such as screen views, feature usage, and app version. We use this data to improve the learning experience.

1.7 Advertising Data

With your consent, we serve ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data. On iOS, we request App Tracking Transparency permission before any ad-related tracking.

1.8 Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store your device push token and platform type. We log notification delivery for types such as streak reminders and learning encouragements.

1.9 User-Generated Content

You may submit feedback (bug reports, feature requests) and flag questions for review. This content, along with your user ID, is stored for app improvement purposes.

1.10 Leaderboard Data

Your display name and weekly XP are visible to other users on the leaderboard. We recommend not using personally identifiable information as your display name.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Track your learning progress, streaks, and achievements
  • Process subscriptions and in-app purchases
  • Send push notifications you have opted into
  • Display leaderboards and league rankings
  • Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs (with consent)
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the app (with consent)
  • Serve ads to support free content (with consent)
  • Respond to your feedback and support requests

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following service providers:

  • Sentry — crash reporting and error tracking
  • PostHog — product analytics
  • RevenueCat — subscription management
  • Google AdMob — advertising
  • Apple / Google — authentication (OAuth) and payment processing
  • Expo — push notifications and over-the-air updates

Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Data Retention

  • Account and learning data: retained until you delete your account
  • Session and IP data: 90 days
  • Analytics data: per PostHog's retention policy
  • Crash reports: per Sentry's retention policy
  • Push notification tokens: until token is invalidated or account deleted

5. Your Rights

5.1 General Rights

You may at any time:

  • Delete your account and all associated data from within the app
  • Withdraw consent for analytics, crash reporting, or ads
  • Request a copy of your personal data by emailing us at support@pawker.com
  • Request information about the data we hold about you

5.2 European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, port your data, and withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our lawful bases for processing are consent (analytics, ads, crash reporting) and legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention).

5.3 California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information. You can exercise your "Do Not Sell or Share" preference in the app's settings.

5.4 International Users

If you are located outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) certifications of our processors as the legal mechanisms for these transfers. You may contact us to obtain a copy of the relevant SCCs.

6. Children's Privacy

Pawker is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at support@pawker.com.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encrypted storage, HTTPS for all data transmission, and secure token storage on your device. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Cookies

Our website may use essential cookies for functionality. For details, see our Cookie Policy. The mobile app uses secure local storage (not cookies) for authentication tokens.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
